A British-born, naturalised USA Citizen, David Lawrie is an internationally acclaimed Music Producer and award winning Sound Designer, having worked with artists such as IAMX, CocoRosie, Phildel, and London After Midnight, amongst others, on both sides of the Atlantic, with bases in both England and the USA.

A master’s graduate of Leeds Conservatoire (formerly Leeds College of Music), Lawrie achieved a distinction grade in the field of Studio-based Composition. In the years since graduating, Lawrie’s production company ISHIKAWA MEDIA was established, attracting clients from far and wide.

Lawrie’s music has been used in television shows on channels like FX and Channel 4, and he has provided sound design and audio post production for companies and networks such as Absinthe Films, Scarlet View Media, Go Pro, Panasonic, Amazon Prime, and Natural England.

Throughout the first part of the Covid-19 pandemic, Lawrie started his solo project The Royal Ritual, with a slew of singles and videos being released in late 2021 and early 2022, and debut album MARTYRS released in May of 2022. After the initial spark of interest in the project, it continues to develop and evolve.

Lawrie is a voting member in the Producers and Engineers wing of The Recording Academy (Grammys) and an audio professional at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Emmys).
