A new website in time for spring

Welcome to the new-look – I felt that, with spring in the air, a new website would be fitting. I hope you like what you see, and that you will take the time to have a look around.

So far 2014 has been extremely busy, and there is a lot for me to tell you. I have already got my teeth well and truly into a production with a new artist, Le Néon Noir, I have finished mixing an album for The Ancient Void, and I am in the process of setting up my own record label, Ishikawa Records.

Before I go into more details with that list, though, I’m also really pleased to announce the release of my newest video for “Storm Petrel.” I know that it is quite a while after the original release of the vinyl EP, but I hope that the hard work by Animator Stas Shch (Stas3dArt) has paid off, and it is worth the wait. It was great to collaborate with such a gifted artist and I am so proud of what we have achieved:

Please head over to Stas’ website to see more of his wonderful work at

So. Back to the original list…

Le Néon Noir is the brainchild of Dani Lacroix – someone with whom I will be working very closely in the future. I first met Dani when he was the session bassist on Captain Wilberforce’salbum, Ghost Written Confessions. Dani and I really hit it off in the studio and we kept in touch, sending demos and ideas to one another, over the course of the following couple of years. Towards the end of 2013 we decided that it would be a great idea to work together in an attempt to push him forwards as an artist. I can honestly say that I have had so much fun producing this EP, which I have literally just finished mixing. I can’t wait to share with you the results of our first collaboration (one of many to come, I hope). Stay tuned – you will be the first to hear of release schedules and other developments.

The metal band, The Ancient Void, for whom I had been brought in as a production consultant and mixing engineer, are almost ready to release the fruits of our labours. Forever Autumn Dusk Eternal was mastered on Wednesday 5th March by Andy Wilson. I don’t know when the official launch will be, but I am certain that some streaming samples will be available very soon. This album was, stylistically, out of the norm for me, but it is definitely a style on which I would love to work again in the future. Metal is great fun to work with!

Finally, I decided to start my own record label, Ishikawa Records. Right now the label is in its infancy – it doesn’t even have an official website, but it will serve to be an independent label whose primary purpose is for independent artists, with whom I’ve worked, to release their music. I really like the idea of a tight musical family. When the label becomes more established I would like to open it up for demo submissions.

I think that about brings us up to date. Expect more over the coming weeks and months. I have a feeling 2014 is going to be my busiest year yet!
